Web3 Ticketing Platform

Simplifying event ticketing management with AI, Web3, and Blockchain

Website: app.novelt.ca

About the App and the Company

novelT.io is an innovative Immutable Ticketing Platform that integrates blockchain technology with AI-driven insights to transform event management and ticket sales. The platform aims to eliminate scalping, reduce costs for event organizers, and provide a fraud-proof ticketing system that also enables royalties on ticket resales through the secondary marketplace.

The company targets event organizers who need affordable, reliable tools for managing ticket sales, processing payments, and gathering insights, while ensuring attendees benefit from a seamless, secure ticketing experience.

The Ask

novelT approached us to build a market-ready MVP that could deliver a full-fledged ticketing and payments experience without being over-engineered. Their vision required a scalable platform that could support multiple user roles, online and in-person payments, complex ticketing rules, and a roadmap for future blockchain integrations; all while launching quickly to secure strategic partnerships.

Key challenges included:

  • Complex role-based workflows across organizers, promoters, and admins
  • Need for secure and unified payment processing (online + terminal) using Stripe
  • Flexible ticket pricing, tiering, and discounting
  • A mobile-friendly platform that works smoothly in high-volume event scenarios

The Approach

We focused on delivering a technically robust MVP that would handle real-world event operations from day one, while remaining modular for future blockchain expansion.

Role-Based Access System

  • Designed and implemented a multi-role architecture supporting event organizers, promoters, and administrators.
  • Each role comes with granular permissions for event creation, ticket management, reporting, and financial oversight.

Advanced Ticketing Engine

  • Built support for ticket tiers, grouping, and dynamic pricing.
  • Added ticket gifting and discount codes, enabling flexible promotional strategies.
  • Architected ticket logic to easily support future blockchain minting.

Integrated Stripe Payments (Online & In-Person)

  • Integrated Stripe for secure online purchases.
  • Implemented Stripe Terminal for in-person payments at physical venues.
  • Ensured PCI compliance, tokenization, and support for mixed payment flows.

Core Ticketing Platform (Web 2.0)

  • Delivered a clean, mobile-first UX for event creation, checkout, and scanning.
  • Built modular APIs and services to prepare for future blockchain and AI integrations.

Mobile Launch & Multi-Device Access

  • Released MVP on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
  • Optimized for mobile purchase and scanning experiences.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenges

  1. Designing a flexible, multi-role permission system without overcomplicating the MVP
  2. Handling real-time payments from both online users and physical terminals
  3. Supporting complex ticket structures while maintaining fast checkout
  4. Balancing performance and scalability for launch
  5. Ensuring seamless mobile UX during high-volume sales

Solutions

  1. Implemented a role-based access control (RBAC) framework with modular role definitions and scoped permissions
  2. Integrated Stripe and Stripe Terminal under a unified payment flow with shared logic for settlement and reconciliation
  3. Designed a ticketing schema supporting grouping, tiers, and discounts while caching key data to minimize load during spikes
  4. Adopted a service-oriented backend and modular API design to support future blockchain layers without major rewrites
  5. Optimized rendering and transaction flows for mobile devices, focusing on speed and error handling under load

The Results & Impact

The launch of novelT’s MVP Web 2 platform proved to be highly successful, with impressive early results:

  • 50+ event organizers onboarded with active deployments in multiple regions (U.S. and Canada)
  • A multi-role platform architecture supporting organizers, promoters, and admins
  • Full analytics and reporting tools, enabling teams to monitor sales, ticket usage, and operational metrics in real time
  • Responsive mobile-first design, ensuring seamless purchasing and check-in experiences across devices
